Part tribute to wilderness\, part indictment against tyranny and greed\, the dialog is based on their shared devotion to the rugged\, windswept mountains that surround their homes. Houston is also the author of the memoir\, Deep Creek: Finding Hope In The High Country\, two novels\, Contents May Have Shifted and Sight Hound\, two collections of short stories\, Cowboys Are My Weakness and Waltzing the Cat\, two collections of essays\, A Little More About Me and A Rough Guide to the Heart\, and Women on Hunting: Essays\, Fiction\, and Poetry. \n“In Pam Houston’s wonderful stories\, sex and hunting are somehow confused\, as are humans and animals. People wear skins\, the animals speak\, and those guys―the ones we all thought were extinct\, the ones who defined what a man was―turn up\, very much alive\, and up to their usual tricks. Houston’s women know they should know better\, but they don’t\, and the result is a beautiful collection about sexual politics\, old and new.”\n- Charles Baxter \nHer stories have been selected for volumes of The O. Henry Awards\, The Pushcart Prize\, Best American Travel Writing\, and Best American Short Stories of the Century\, among other anthologies. She is the winner of the Western States Book Award\, the WILLA Award for contemporary fiction\, the Evil Companions Literary Award and several teaching awards. They approach the topics of identity\, food\, family and history in a responsible yet humorous way. Latinos Who Lunch intends to blend all these ideas together by placing into context everything from the piñata as a symbol of multiculturalism in Mexico\, to the politics of Frida Kahlo as an icon of Mexicanidad. By maintaining visibility\, accessibility and a philosophy of de-centering white male dominating cultural practices at the core mission of their content\, Latinos Who Lunch strives to open a dialogue with their listeners. \nwebsite: www.latinoswholunch.com \nJustin Favela AKA FavyFav is known for large-scale installations and sculptures that manifest his interactions with American pop culture and the Latinx experience. Based in Las Vegas\, Nevada\, he has exhibited internationally and across the United States. His installations have been commissioned by museums including the Denver Art Museum in Colorado and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Arkansas. His latest major project\, Puente Nuevo\, is at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth\, Texas\, through October 2020. \nBabelito (Emmanuel Ortega PhD\, Art History\, University of New Mexico) is a curator\, and a Visiting Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
